    1932 falcon .... I think ! Empty 1932 falcon .... I think !

Post  Mattwhite on Sun Apr 26, 2020 10:38 pm

    Hello everyone,

I think I own a 1932 falcon, it has the bridge frame and what I believe maybe the original 172cc engine ( I also have a 196cc super sports I’m thinking of putting in it ) is there anyway I can tell the exact model as I know the frames were used across different models the number on the frame is B25301 would this tell me its origin. My first foray into rebuilding an unregistered bike so any help would be appreciated and apologies if I’m posting in wrong thread !

Yes1932 is correct denoted by the B prefix. I think the engine type was optional.

    1932 falcon .... I think ! Empty 1932 Falcon ???

well yes it is a 1932 model as the frame pre-fix is "B" from there it gets muddier
    in 1932 there was a :
Black Hawk 21 and 21M this has petroil mix in the fuel tank ( XZ ,XZA engine)
Falcon 22 automatic oil from seperate tank ( KZ,ZKS engine)
    Merlin 23 ,148cc 8C engine,petroil ( W engine No)
    Kestrel 24 148cc 8C engine,petroil ( W engine No)
Lapwing 25 and 25M ,148cc,10C engine petroil ( GY , GYF engine No)
Condor 26 172cc Brooklands racing engine, automatic oiling

so basically all of the same frame, if your bike has a 196cc engine and a seperate oil tank , it will be a Falcon 22 ?, there was an option to purchase the Falcon 22 from new with the 172cc TT supersports engine in place of the 1E 196cc engine, so again the 172cc engine could be equally correct ???

Thanks for the quick and interesting replies This Bike came with a sport engine code TL 172 cc, but I’m considering replacing with a KZS 196cc so this would of been an option originally ? The bike also have an oil tank with an oil feed sight glass And small regulator to control the feed. I’m hoping to run it with petroil mix just for simplicity as I’m guessing that’s more reliable than needing a well sealed oil tank and associated pipework? Thx again for the info.
