It cost me the princely sum of £8
Of course being 16 I had no idea what I had, or how to look after it.
I rode it (and frequently got gravel rash - the tyres were still original and had gone hard !) for quite a few years. Even riding it on New Year's Day from Manchester to Bristol - that was so cold, but made it in one piece without any problems.
It eventually ended up in my garden shed in pieces after I got married, and one day my wife told me that it had to go.
I advertised it locally in Gloucester, and sold it I seem to recall for £20.
I wonder if any of it remains anywhere.
The reg was XYH 159
XYH159 was last on a Volkswagen which has been untaxed since 1994, so if the bike is still about it will be on an age related number.
