If you look at the picture of the red bike you can see where the footrest mount attaches to the pressed steel bodywork, the grey bike is mine, as you can see it is coming away and has a crack in it. My question is, is the footrest mount welded/bolted/bonded to the body work or is it just a close fit. The manual doesn't show it from this angle so i have no idea if it permantly attached, all i know is i'm not going to ride it till i get it fixed.Any ideas?

It is a permanently ( well till it cracks off) affixed to the main tub, neeless to say this area gets a lot of wet thrown up from the inside and the metal suffers, no answer really other than to get it welded securely, and possibly plated from the inside

Thanks John, I'll weld it up.
I think i'll probably be better welding it in place because i'm sure if i take it apart and weld it then it probably wont fit afterwards.
