Description :

Now in my 81st year I have decided to sell my 1954 Falcon 67. Villiers 8e engine with 3 speed gearbox.
I bought this bike around 8 years ago for nostalgic reasons, it is the same model as my first ever motorbike bought in 1960. I have done many improvements but age is catching up with me. What I haven't done is the complete disassembly and repaint.

Below is the list of my improvements.

Clutch >
Recorked (properly) see my post titled 'Villiers 8E clutch recork saga' on FBOC forum.
New clutch springs.
<

Rear shocks >
Have been rebuilt to original specification.
De-rusted internals.
New copies of springs made by Small Order Springs Ltd.
Worn central steel rods replaced with precision ground 3/8 inch silver steel rods & new phosphor bronze bushes reamed to suit.
New damping oil valves copied from originals.
Repainted and rechromed.
The silentbloc bushes rubbers were perished so I made replacements.
Original rear shocks are as rare as hens' teeth.
<

Petrol tank >
Very recent internal clean & de-rust.
Treated with POR15 rust proofing.
New fuel tap with built-in reserve.
<

New speedometer cable.
New clutch cable.
New exhaust and silencer.
Stainless Steel wheel nuts.
Stainless Steel chain adjusters.
Replaced selenium rectifier with modern one mounted on a heatsink.
Front and rear brakes skimmed and relined.
New flywheel cover.
Stainless Steel steering head nut.
New home made rear brake cable.
All the electrics work.
Replaced old selenium rectifier with modern rectifier.
Many of the 'new' parts were made by me in 303 stainless steel.

Comes with legshields and windshield, not fitted.

The mileometer shows 19,760 miles. The engine however seems perfect, there is no sign of any wear on the cylinder bore or play in the big end, so perhaps it has had some work done in the past.
Still available is the old exhaust and silencer which may be suitable for restoration.

The only problem I get after a layoff is the carburettor float needle sticking.

Location, Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

Marcus
